Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Smart Home Automotive app (“the app”, “we”, “us”), published by Majozo (Sweden), handles information. We built the app to be privacy-friendly: we do not sell your data, we do not use advertising, and we do not run analytics or tracking. We do not operate a user account database.

Summary

  • Your smart-home data (devices, rooms, flows) is exchanged directly between the app and your own Homey Pro. It does not pass through our servers.
  • Sign-in uses Homey’s official login. Access tokens are stored encrypted on your device.
  • Location is used only if you enable “Homecoming”, only in the foreground, only on the device, and is never transmitted to us or anyone else.
  • No ads. No third-party analytics. No selling or sharing of personal data for marketing.

Information the app processes

1. Homey sign-in and access tokens

To connect to your smart home, you sign in with your Homey account through Homey’s official OAuth login (operated by Athom B.V.). During sign-in, a short-lived, single-use reference passes through our server (smarthomeauto.majozo.com) for the sole purpose of securely exchanging the authorization code for access tokens. This temporary hand-off record is protected, has a short lifetime, and is deleted immediately after it is used. Access and refresh tokens are then stored encrypted on your device using the Android Keystore. We do not keep your Homey tokens permanently on our servers, and we cannot see the contents of your smart home.

2. Smart-home data

When you browse and control devices and flows, that data is sent directly between the app and your Homey Pro over an encrypted connection. It is not routed through, stored by, or visible to Majozo.

3. Location (optional — “Homecoming” feature)

The “Homecoming” feature is off by default. If you turn it on, the app reads the car’s location while the app is in the foreground only to detect when you are near a home location that you set. This processing happens entirely on the device. Your location is not collected, stored on our servers, transmitted to any third party, or accessed in the background. You can disable the feature at any time in the app’s settings.

4. Optional app lock (PIN)

If you enable the optional screen-lock PIN, it is stored only as a salted, hashed value in encrypted storage on your device. We never receive it.

Permissions the app uses

  • Internet — to communicate with Homey’s login service and your Homey Pro.
  • Location (fine/coarse), foreground only — used solely for the optional Homecoming feature described above. Not used in the background.

Data sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. Data is shared only as strictly necessary to provide the service:

  • Athom B.V. (Homey) — the login and smart-home platform you are connecting to.
  • Our token-exchange server (smarthomeauto.majozo.com) — used only momentarily during sign-in, as described above.
  • Google Play — distributes the app and processes your purchase under Google’s own terms and privacy policy.

Data retention

Tokens remain encrypted on your device until you sign out or uninstall the app. The temporary sign-in hand-off record on our server is deleted immediately after use (and in all cases after a short expiry). We do not maintain profiles about you.

Security

All network communication uses encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. Tokens and any optional PIN are stored using Android’s hardware-backed Keystore encryption. No security measure is perfect, but we design the app to keep sensitive data on your device.

Children

The app is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

Because the app does not collect or store your personal data on our servers, there is normally nothing for us to provide, correct or delete. You can remove all app data yourself by signing out or uninstalling the app. If you have any privacy questions, or wish to exercise your rights under the GDPR, you are welcome to contact us through the contact page.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
